Pencader 5 v 3 New Quay
In an enthralling eight goal thriller Pencader deservedly won the Bay Cup for the first time in the club's history.
Despite the difficult underfoot conditions both teams contrived to produce an exciting encounter that will long live in the memory. In an even first half Pecader took the lead just after the ten minute mark when Adrian Hazelby netted from the penalty spot before the ever dangerous Chris Atkinson pulled New Quay back on level terms.
After a couple of chances at both ends Ian Evans headed Pencader back in front from a left sided corner only for Atkinson with his second of the game on the half time whistle to make it all square at the interval.
Pencader had the better of the second half with a second from Hazelby and an own goal giving them a two goal advantage. New Quay however, never gave up the fight and with just five minutes remaining a Mathew Mosley goal got them back into the reckoning. Further pressure then ensued but a minute from time Pencader broke away for Simon Davies to net their fifth and to ensure that it was their name on the cup.
