Llanboidy have beaten Bargod Rangers in the League Cup Final by a single goal to nil. In a game of fairly few chances considering how open the game was, a scrambled goal by Jonathan James after an hour was the only difference between the sides.
Both teams settled early and there was a half-chance each within the first ten minutes. The first real chance came after twenty minutes when eventual man of the match Joules Ward of Llanboidy did well to beat his defender up the right wing only to see his powerful shot miss narrowly. Bargod had two or three good chances in the first half but they all ended with weak shots.
They were made to pay fairly early in the second half when a Llanboidy corner was not cleared properly. From the ensuing scramble, Jonathan James found himself in plenty of space with just the keeper to beat from six yards.
Bargod continued to press but none of their chances seriously challenged the Llan goalkeeper and they managed to hold on for a win in what was their first ever visit to the final.
