Cwpan Ceredigion Final 2010--2011
Cardigan 1 v 2 St Dogmaels (after extra time - 1-1 after 90 minutes)
St Dogmaels lifted Cwpan Ceredigion for the second time thanks to an extra time winner by Lee Burrows.
In the swirling wind the game started cautiously with there being few early chances.
Gradually Cardigan began to exert their influence in midfield but it was the Saints who took the lead just before the half hour mark when an unmarked Sam Orme headed home from a right sided free kick.
Within seven minutes Cardigan were back on level terms when from an incisive three man move Peter Almond rifled home the equaliser.
After the early exchanges Cardigan dominated the second half but were constantly frustrated by the exploits of Saints keeper whose string of excellent saves took the game into extra time.
Once into extra time the Saints began to exert some more pressure and after a goalless first period got that all important winning goal. What seemed to be a comfortable ball for Cardigan custodian Steve Smith to clear fell neatly for Burrows to lob into an empty net.
